Exceptional Safety
Safety is at the forefront of the JCB 540s design; the low boom profile and pivot point, combined with a full set of side and rear-view mirrors allow for best-possible driver visibility. Dash mounted reversing cameras are also available.
The telehandler is also fitted with reversing alarm, live link tracing and Geofencing alerts. LiveLink tracing offers machine location tracking in real time, while Geofencing creates virtual perimeters, ensuring the telehandler is not used outside of restricted areas.
Drivers will be alerted when the telehandler is travelling over 5kph and the boom is at a 30% angle. The JCB will also alert when it senses the driver is not in their seat while the engine is running and the park brake is not engaged. Drive will also be disabled at this point to prevent accidental operation.
The cab of the telehandler is fitted with a falling objects protection system and roll over protection system for enhanced operator safety and peace of mind.
Hoses are fitted with hose burst check valves, which prevent uncontrolled movement of a hose in the event of a hose burst, therefore preventing the rams from collapsing also.
Sway frames allow the operator to ensure their telehandler is completely level before lifting.

High Durability & Strength
Created using the highest quality parts and components, the JCB 540 is designed to withstand cycle after cycle of heavy use, offering the best possible service life.
The 540 loadall is a product of rigorous testing including high stress loading, cold climate testing and repeated transmission.
For maximum strength and added durability, the boom includes an overlap of 1m. This overlap is routed with hoses for even more protection. The chassis is a fully welded one piece component on which the boom is mounted, this creates a very solid structure and allows for best possible visibility.
The inverted, U-shaped boom pressing is fitted with fully welded closing plates for maximum strength. Stress points and joints have also been kept to a minimum across the integrated boom nose and one piece closing plate, adding to the structural integrity of the loadall.
For the best possible protection, the loadall bonnets are side mounted and recessed, adding to the telehandlers compact design. Rear lights are also fold-up to protect from potential worksite damage.
For even distribution of load stresses, lift and displacement rams are centralised. Lift, tilt and extension rams are also held in place by keyhole castings for improved structural integrity.
